NDL sign
Why is there no sign asking how much NDL you have left? I see often people are ignoring NDL value on their computers and there is absolutely no communication about it whatsoever. We do have a sign for asking how much air do you have left, but there's no protocol that would allow me to communicate that we need to go shallower because the decompression limit will be reached soon.
F ex following a group lead by a DM into the dive to 30m, we stayed on that depth for more than 15 minutes, everyone was diving on air, no nitrox, yet not even after 18 minutes there were any suggestion by the dive leader to go shallower, but they continue the dive. And everyone had more than 130 bar left in their tanks on that point.
No one from that group sees any issue to reach and exceed NDL, but no one is a tech diver or did proper deco planning.
What are your thoughts on that? Are recreational divers allowed to go slightly into deco? Why is everyone ignoring NDL??
