Michael Huang’s Statement on Twitter

Source (@fernozzle on Twitter): https://x.com/fernozzle/status/2106491690597126429

This was crossposted from r/BattleForDreamIsland due to AnimationEpic’s close business relationship with Jacknjellify - especially with the annual tours as well as Lizzy Oliver (Paintbrush former VA)’s video testimony.

Regardless of what you think of the situation, this will be the only post dedicated to this topic. All other posts are subject to removal under the subreddit’s new rule regarding drama.

It’s important to read this document in its entirety. You may see bits and pieces of this statement being taken out of context within the coming days.

NEW RULE: Regarding Drama

r/BattleForDreamIsland is adding a new rule:

No causing drama - Posting about drama or allegations of people, whether they are a crew member or an object show community member, is not allowed. The only exception that can be posted is statements from official sources (jacknjellify or its crew members), and then no follow-up/opinion posts on the topic will be allowed.

About the exception to the rule: If jacknjellify or a BFDI crew member posts a statement, such as regarding an incident, someone leaving the crew, or someone being removed from the crew, that will be allowed to be posted. Since this counts as coming from an official source and could be something that affects the show going forward, we think this will be on-topic and okay to post. The mods will then designate the first post of this statement as the official discussion thread for the topic, and then after that, no more follow-up/opinion posts on the topic will be allowed. We think this will be a good middle ground for this rule where people can stay up to date about news that will affect the show, while not flooding the subreddit with posts about it.

Let it be clear that this has not been a recent or rushed decision from the mod team, but something we have been discussing for months. Our main reasoning for this rule is that in general, spreading unconfirmed rumors online can lead to bullying and witchhunting, and that is something we want to discourage on this subreddit. To cite a recent example, there was an incident where a fan got on-stage during this year's BFDI & II Tour meetups. While you can believe that this was an invasion of privacy and personal space, and that is a valid position to have, the witchhunting that came out of this drama is something we do not want to support on this subreddit.

Our other reasoning is that this rule will help with our goal of the sub to stay on-topic with the show (which is also a rule we have), and keep the sub from being flooded with posts about drama every time one pops up. While you can discuss drama elsewhere (and we know this will inevitably happen), the drama and the potential for witchhunting that follows is not something we want to support on this subreddit.

The new rule will be numbered Rule 8 and will be reflected in the subreddit’s rulebook as well as the removal reasons when we take action.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to voice your opinion. Thank you for reading.

2026 BFDIxII Tour SPOILER POLICY (READ ME)

It’s that time of year once again!

Starting now, and ending 24 hours after the last 2026 Inanimate Insanity tour episode is uploaded to YouTube, we will be enforcing a zero tolerance policy on spoilers and leaks.

Please make yourself familiar with Rule 5, which deals with spoilers and leaks.

5. No leaks or fake/joke leaks

Rather self-explanatory, don't post anything leaked, from early releases of episodes, to Kickstarter exclusive content, to things only showcased at meetups for exclusive viewings, et cetera. Fake/joke leaks are not allowed either.

Additionally, for the tour, there are added requirements for your posts.

5a. Posts discussing new episodes within the first 24 hours of its' release on YouTube MUST be marked with a spoiler tag.

5b. Comments containing spoilers on non-spoiler posts should use spoiler formatting. Please reference the Reddit Markdown Guide regarding spoiler formatting if you don’t know how to do this.

5c. Posts including episode spoilers in the title of the post are not allowed, regardless if the spoiler tag is correctly applied (this part only exists because Reddit does not allow you to edit the title of your post after upload).

This rule will be enforced on a zero tolerance policy!

If you break any part of this rule, you will be BANNED until 24 hours after the last 2026 Inanimate Insanity tour episode releases to YouTube.

Because we don’t know when the episodes will release on YouTube yet, it will show as a permanent ban. But your usernames will all be noted, and you will be manually unbanned when the time eventually comes.

This rule will be enforced regardless of how long you’ve been a member, or how active you are in the subreddit. If you wish to be spoiled, please go to other subreddits.

NOTE: You ARE ALLOWED to post your tour experience, as well as purchases and fanmade creations to the subreddit without a spoiler tag (like the Poppy plushie or the posters or friendship bracelets, etc.) as long as you don’t include any episode or vote spoilers in your post.

You can always feel free to ask the moderation team questions through DMs or modmail, and we will try to answer you as quickly as we can.

Have a fun and safe tour experience!

2026 BFDIxII Tour SPOILER POLICY (READ ME)

It’s that time of year once again!

Starting now (10 July 2026 at 12:00 midnight GMT) and ending 24 hours after the last 2026 tour episode is uploaded to YouTube, we will be enforcing a zero tolerance policy on spoilers and leaks.

Below is the tour version of Rule 4 that has been expanded upon the original. Please read and understand it. This is the rule 4 that the staff will be going off of when reviewing your content for the next few months.

Rule 4. Spoiler Policy (Tour Edition)

4a. Posts discussing new episodes within the first 24 hours of its' release on YouTube MUST be marked with a spoiler tag.

4b. Comments containing spoilers on non-spoiler posts should use spoiler formatting. Please reference the Reddit Markdown Guide regarding spoiler formatting if you don’t know how to do this.

4c. Posts including episode/vote spoilers in the title of the post are not allowed, regardless if the spoiler tag is correctly applied (this part only exists because Reddit does not allow you to edit the title of your post after upload).

4d. Posts discussing vote spoilers should always be marked with a spoiler tag until the voting results' 24 hour spoiler window is over. (this is DIFFERENT from the initial 24 hour upload window).

4e. Meetup/Theater episode leaks, as well as fake meetup/theater episode leaks and announcements from Jacknjellify made to appear as if they were real are not allowed. Official Jacknjellify announcements will be posted by the moderation team and pinned to the Community Highlights tab.

This rule will be enforced on a zero tolerance policy!

If you break any part of this rule, you will be BANNED until 24 hours after the voting period of the last 2026 tour episode releases to YouTube.

Because we don’t know when the last 2026 tour episode will release on YouTube yet, it will show as a permanent ban. But your usernames will all be noted, and you will be manually unbanned when the time eventually comes.

This rule will be enforced regardless of how long you’ve been a member, or how active you are in the subreddit. If you wish to be spoiled, please go to other subreddits.

I know this rule looks intimidating, but the truth is that I put in clear writing pretty much what you all have been doing on your own. The rest of the subreddit rules STILL APPLY to your posts.

NOTE: You ARE ALLOWED to post your tour experience, as well as purchases and fanmade creations to the subreddit without a spoiler tag (like the Three plushie or the card game or friendship bracelets, etc.) as long as you don’t include any episode or vote spoilers in your post.

You can always feel free to ask the moderation team questions through DMs or modmail, and we will try to answer you as quickly as we can.
