Knotweed - year 3 and beyond...
I've been dealing with knotweed on some hiking trails for about three years. I've been focusing on spraying herbicide once a year during "the window" and did the seasonal treatment yesterday.
Long story short, it's been very successful! It started as a monster patch in some areas, and this year, I was down to maybe just 2-3 large plants, and some smaller growth. The question I have is - does the management strategy change at some point? If I'm dealing with just a few scattered 1-2 foot plants, do I need to still hit them only seasonally, or is there some more aggressive strategy I can push for eradication? I'm a little worried that since I'm only managing once a year, it would be easy for me to miss a plant and have it get a season ahead of me before treatment.
