advice on how much to charge for freelance work

hiii everyone !
so i’ve been doing sign art for the past 5 years now but primarily at Trader Joe’s so I haven’t ventured out into the freelance space. I’m planning on doing a permanent a frame for this vintage pop-up in my neighborhood and am unsure about what a normal amount to charge is? or how i should go about calculating my rates in general. any advice ?

Thinking if going to CUNY for a masters in art administration is the way to go

hi friends :3
i recently moved to nyc in april with the hopes of having an easier time of integrating myself into the museum / art scene but haven’t had much luck .. looking into universities like NYU and PRATT and seeing their tuition fees has been nothing but discouraging .. hence why im considering pursuing a masters in art administration through CUNY (specifically the baruch college branch). I have a degree in communications with an art history minor with the goal of working in an administrative or educational position within museums. i’ve applied to lower level positions at galleries like the MOMA etc but with little luck … i fear my current job experience with a lack of an art-related degree is really hindering me from being considered.

so my question is : do you think this is a path worth considering ?
i’m worried to take on any potential loans and being stuck at the place that i began at … i understand how going to a more accredited art school may lead to better connections but i really don’t think i want to be stuck with the loans down the line …

if anyone has any advice, tips, or knowledge on this subject please let me know ! thank you in advance !
