Thoughts on Susquehanna

Considering a job offer at SIG Dublin. It's an in office role and compensation is decent.

How's the culture and WLB compared to other big tech for someone working in support/operations? Are the yearly pay revisions good?

Librarian job

I'm tired of working in tech and I really need a break, not a career break, a permanent break from it. I love reading and I like the library atmosphere. I'm curious, how is it like working as a librarian? I'm willing to take a huge pay cut. Honestly I'm happy to drop tech for pretty much anything but my first choice would be this job

Accepted a new job but tired of the fast pace

I recently got laid off and got into a new role. I have 7 yoe as a dev. My previous role was incredibly bad, the staff were just rude and it was a high pressure role. I rejected offers which were high paying but I didn't want the same kind of pressure and accepted the one I thought was chill. However just my team, the expectation to deliver apparently is sky high and im just not ready to get into that kind of pace. I'm thinking of interviewing again because there aren't any options to switch teams as they quite a small team in the current location:

- how do I know if a company is chill or not before and during the interview?

- is it possible that I could somehow convey this to the manager?

I work in tech in ireland. Honestly I'm so tired of it that I'm considering quitting tech altogether, taking a break and doing part time in somethin like retail. Has anyone been in a similar situation?

Edit: I don't know if my current role is secure either. The entire team's future is riding on thoughts and prayers and ofc AI

Laid off and accepting the most stable offer

Im a mid level software dev based in Ireland. Got recently laid off. Got a couple of offers, one which is a 5k annual increment from my current job and another 11k with title upgrade however a large consultancy. 5k one is just a very large services MNC, seems stable and expecting saner hours than my previous job. Deciding to go with that. Its my first time getting laid off and my previous workplace had people working insane hours, even weekends..rude management and AI shoved down everyone's throats. Just need peace and sane hours to recover for sometime. Did anyone do the same or was in my position? What do you think, am i an idiot for accepting the lower offer with saner hours and a bit more stability than consultancy? I feel like there will be more layoffs, i just didnt wanna get burned out and laid off again

Slalom Dublin

How is it like working there in an engineering role? Seems new to Dublin.

Its a consultancy and with the current market i was wondering about bench period, job security.

Is anyone aware?

Looking to switch jobs, have more than 6 years full stack + cloud + some LLM API integration experience. For anyone who has been job searching, with maybe similar experience how has the market been treating you lately? I did check linkedin and there seem to be a lot of postings, however im skeptical of the current market flooded with ghost jobs, cv farming recruiters and whatnot.
