Cool Story!
I’ve been a Deftones fan since Adrenaline came out. My favorite of all the bands of my teenage years, by far! Never failed me and has always progressed thru all these years! But u all already know that!
So a good friend of mine reached out cus he ended up with this autographed guitar that had the whole band, including Chi! It’s an ESP that Stephen plays but it has some damage. He knew I would love it regardless and sold to me for $100! I don’t really play guitar so it’s just sorta sat in its case all these years.
Back when I got it, I didn’t really use Google image search so never looked too deep into it. I was excited about it no matter any value or story it had.
I just got a speaker that has a guitar hookup so I busted it out and it still works great, damage and all! Now that I’m more familiar with searching images and what’s possible, I snapped a photo and searched it. To my surprise, the exact guitar popped up! 🤯 Sorta tripped me out cus I wasn’t expecting that.
Apparently it was auctioned off on Charity Buzz for Chi’s Special Needs Trust. I was able to get Charity Buzz to send me whatever info they had on it.
In 2009 it auctioned for $1600. I wonder what’s its value would be nowadays? To me it’s priceless and I would never sell it but I still wonder. More details below… Anyways, thought some of u would dig this. Hope u all have a great day!
