All done
Just for reference, I’m a 28 year old who has been having worsening acne not responding to treatment. I started seeing a derm for skin cancer concerns and this led to finally dealing with my acne, the pictures are as follows:
- Pretty soon after starting tretinoin, maybe like a month
- End of 3 months of tretinoin maybe one week into tazarotene
- End of 3 months of tazarotene, acne just way worse at this point it seemed
- Probably about 2 weeks into Accutane
- Maybe the middle of month 2 of Accutane after going from 40 -> 80mg
- One month post Accutane
I weigh about 165lbs so for the first month I was on 40mg and then from that point on I was at 80, total of 5 months completed and now I just use tazarotene as much as my skin can tolerate, maybe like 3-4x per week increasing of course. Overall this was super worth it, it sucks not being able to drink but I did abstain during my entire treatment. Worst side effects were by far the dry lips which just got progressively worse over the whole duration but has since returned to normal. Labs were elevated but normal range besides mildly high LDL levels. Super happy to be done and I wold highly recommend
