What apps/sites do you use to determine weather before heading out?

Wondering what the best app would be to get best weather data before heading out. Specifically look at wind estimates throughout the day? I’m in the US Southwest, if that’s relevant. Lakes/rivers with relatively calm waters. Can get choppy with bad wind though.

I’d like to plan more trips out on the water for multiple hours, but worry going a farther way out and getting stuck in bad wind on the trip back could kick my ass if unexpected.

Any other tips you recommend to plan your outings?

And a side note, does anyone paddle board solo frequently? I’d like to eventually get confident enough to go solo even if I can’t find someone to tag along, though again I worry a bit about getting in a bad spot alone.

I feel like I can’t get a clear answer online. I mostly read from KU or e-books I can buy and send to my kindle. I’ve been wanting to try audiobooks to “read” while doing chores/cooking/exercise but will still prefer actual reading during downtime and want to be able to stop and pick up at the same chapter (if possible). Especially since I just moved in on my own and feel like I have so much to do over the coming months where I won’t be able to read as much as I like (I’m already at almost 100 books so far this year).

Does anyone else have kindle unlimited and an audible subscription where they can toggle between the same book? Or is it usually reading one book on kindle, and listening to another book when doing audible?
I also have Libby, so I can probably try some audiobooks there.

I’m currently 24% into the first book of villains and virtues after starting Thursday. I’ve been moving since Friday and it usually doesn’t take me this long to read a book, so I’m struggling to get into it after seeing great comments online for a while. I want to try to listen while unpacking and whatnot every day.

Please give me any tips for those who both read and listen to audiobooks! Thank you for any advice you can offer!

PS: any recommendations for an excellent audiobook? I was considering listening to a book I’ve already read first but am open to anything good.
