So, I am an absolute beginner who tried fishing like 3 times as a kid and never caught anything. Are these adequate for fishing for tilapia and maybe small catfish with bait on a river (the Nile) or canals? Am I missing anything important? And what rigs would you suggest for fishing a somewhat fast river with plenty of bottom vegetation?

The left hook is size 6 mustad, the rest are local made stuff that do not necessarily follow the same standards, though the right hook is supposed to be size 7.
