Interested in becoming a chef, advice from serving or veteran RN chefs?

Heya, I’ve always loved cooking and I love everything to do with the sea so I thought working as a chef for the navy would be the perfect job. I haven’t heard much online about what the job for chefs in the surface fleet would be like, I know the hours are long and the work’s hard…that’s pretty much it. Anyone have any advice? Any warnings or anything similar? Please be completely honest, I wanna know what I’m getting myself into.
