My 2 cents on Kanwariyas

Kanwariyas, in my opinion, are also an epitome of a much bigger problem - unemployment and the need for social validation.

We all know unemployed youth are looked down upon in our society. So how does an unemployed young man earn respect? By doing something which society considers respectable.

And in a society which is heavily driven by religion, religious activities becomes one of the easiest way to earn that respect. When I was a kid, I remember my neighbours organised a kirtan. Everyone in the society came, praised them for organising it and treated them with a lot of respect. Nobody really cared what they did otherwise. The fact that they organised a religious event itself gave them some sort of social standing.

I think Kanwar Yatra works in a similar way for a lot of young men.

You may not have a job, you may not have much social status, you may not have achieved much in life but you can go on a Kanwar Yatra, walk hundreds of kilometres and suddenly people look at you with respect.

You earn respect by doing such religious. Religion fills that gap very easily.

Keep the momentum going guys

OP went to protest today 😤😤

Edit** I absolutely love posting on this sub. The comments are pure entertainment. Watching the IT cell’s finest clock in for duty, desperately trying to convince everyone that grieving parents are actually part of some grand “left takeover” conspiracy, is comedy gold.

Here’s a reality check: today, the parents who lost their children stood up and spoke. Their primary demand by far was “Dharmendra Pradhan Isteefa Do.” That was the dominant slogan throughout the protest.

Yes, other slogans like “Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan” and “Narendra Modi ko Jaana Hoga” were also raised. And? Since when does hearing a slogan magically transfer ownership of an entire protest to the Left?

People showed up because they were angry, grieving, and demanding accountability not because some shadowy ideological headquarters sent them a joining letter. But I suppose blaming the Left is much easier than acknowledging that ordinary citizens and bereaved parents might genuinely be furious with the government.

Please do continue with the “everything I don’t like is a Left conspiracy” routine, though. It’s genuinely hilarious.

Looking for a Room in a Preoccupied Flat | South Delhi

Hi everyone!

I’m looking to shift into a preoccupied 2–3 BHK in South Delhi, preferably around Hauz Khas, Lajpat Nagar, Greater Kailash, East of Kailash, Jangpura, Kailash Colony, Taimoor Enclave, or Ashram.

I’m a 25-year-old advocate practising at the Supreme Court. Looking for a clean, spacious, and well-ventilated flat with good sunlight, ideally within walking distance of a metro station.

I’m chilled-out, friendly, and easy to adjust with. If there’s any availability, please feel free to WhatsApp me at +91 9303139443.

Thanks!
