Spain Trip during Heat Wave
Edit: Have gotten such great insight from Spaniards, seems like this is a very typical summer so far, which is good news. We will be going on our trip and enjoying as much of Spain as we can!
My partner and I have a 2 week trip planned, starting July 10th and ending July 25th. We are very aware of the current high temps in Spain, and my partner especially is quite anxious about how the heat is going to negatively impact the trip and our own selves, and has even been considering cancelling it entirely for safety.
Just wondering if anyone who is currently in Spain has any thoughts/advice for us. We’re from Canada, currently have temps of around 30-35C this week, but I know that’s still less than what’s happening in Spain.
Our trip is a road trip from Madrid, up along the northern coast (which will be most of the trip) and then back down to Madrid before we leave. We will have a rental car, and majority of our hotels have a/c, but a couple don’t. Is this too risky right now? Should we cancel? Or would we be fine to still go and enjoy our trip?
