I got to feel very smart while watching last week's Lanterns episode

Best of the episode: someone has a very unfortunate nickname

"So turns out we're a minute short on the script, and the writers have all gone home for the day." Director: "I have an idea."

A great lead-in from the recent 60s Batman episode

Maybe the best ending to a Batman book ever

Best of the episode: some of the themes in this book are uncomfortably relevant to this day

Justice for Fernando

I actually have a soft spot for this dumb, stupid episode. First time Columbo has solved 3 murders in one episode?

Columbo sparks another career change (s4e2 and s5e1)

After playing a pivotal role in solving a murder case perpetrated by a famous photographer, a humble camera store clerk decides to take on the forces of crime. After discovering that police work might not be right for him, he finds his own way to protect and serve by joining the Coroner’s Office. There, he continues to interact with the very lieutenant who inspired him on that fateful day in the camera store.

Let me tell you the story of the DMV employee who had a career change to medical doctor

After a discourteous encounter with the Lieutenant, a humble DMV employee reevaluated his life and decides to go back to medical school. After earning his medical degree a few years later, our new doctor decides to have a little fun at the expense of our queasy detective, who doesn't seem to recognize him.

Not my favorite episode but love how this quickly catches on to how brilliant Columbo is (s3e7)

Seems a little irritated with the Lieutenant at the crash site in the beginning, but in that very scene he starts to realize Columbo's genius
