Refs blowing calls in the playoffs
how did this happen?
in the owls vs flash Townsend wanted to review point the ball hit 2 paddles. She was right definitive Video footage showed it. The refs did not overturn the point and they lost the game.

I'm pulling for The Shock but I feel like it might be ALW's year after seeing that win last weekend.
seems like they went out if their way to get Tama's natural doubles partner and just sit him for Tyler Loong.
any logic here?
watching the PPA Tour Asia games from last weekend I can't help but notice the vibes are chill and teams seem respectful to each other. if you watch pro tennis you see that mostly too. especially at the highest levels.
if you tune into ppa and especially MLP you can't help but notice the often trashy and toxic vibes. which is fine if you're into pro wrestling, and I won't lie the drama is fun to watch.
I do wonder though: is it leftover residue the earlier pro pickleball incarnations? is it here to stay? is it some innate part of the sport we will always have ? does it hurt or help long term pro pickleball with wide acceptance and popularity ? does it even matter?
let's face it, if a team steam rolls another (and this is common) and wins 3-0 it's boring. and the dream breaker is easily the most exciting part of MLP.
here's a format overhaul I think would be super fun:
go to a 3 + DreamTaker format: women’s doubles, men’s doubles, and one mixed doubles game, all to 15 win by 2. Each is worth 1 team point. That keeps the doubles meaningful, makes the games feel less rushed than to 11, and gets rid of the “second mixed game feels like filler” problem. If a team goes up 3-0, great, they earned a huge advantage but the broadcast isn’t dead yet.
Then you play the mandatory DreamTaker round, worth up to 3 points. First part is the men v women wrinkle: Team A’s women play Team B’s men to 11 rally, then Team A’s men play Team B’s women to 11 rally. Add the scores together, and whoever wins the aggregate gets 2 team points. That way it’s not “women have to straight-up beat men or it’s pointless”; it becomes about how many points your women can steal and how cleanly your men can handle business. Then the final DreamTaker point is a normal DreamBreaker-style rotating singles game to 15. So if you’re down 3-0, you have to win the aggregate cross-gender section and the DreamBreaker to make it 3-3. Hard, but not impossible.
If it ends 3-3, go to a HeroBreaker: each team picks one player, singles to 5 or 7, win by 1 in the regular season, win by 2 in the playoffs. For finals, I’d make it best-of-3 team matches using this same format, so the championship actually has some weight instead of feeling like it ends right when it’s getting good. Regular season stays tight, finals get the bigger PPA-style finish, and a 3-0 lead becomes e“almost closed” instead of “everyone can turn the TV off.”
assuming she's healthy they should instantly be contenders.
sure they didn't cover the wives thing but that seems like water under that bridge. but man they made him out to be Patrick Bateman from American Pyscho with that interview editing lol. he seems perfectly normal in most interviews and super into yelping. btw anyone know whwre to find his lists?
