2026-07-10: NYTimes article & Uni of Cambridge research report on AI use by terrorist groups

Like many of you, I try to keep up with news on AI and, in relation to this sub, cybersecurity in general.

This article just hit the NYTimes today which touched on both AI and cybersecurity issues. I'm including a gift link to the NYT article as well as the full research report on the University of Cambridge website. Fascinating reads, to say the least.

How Terrorist Groups Are Using A.I. to Gain an Edge in Battle (New York Times. July 10, 2026. By Dustin Volz and Eric Schmitt from Washington)

“God has helped us, and so will AI”: How the Terrorist Group Boko Haram Uses Frontier AI (research report by Antonia Juelich, The Cambridge Programme on AI Science & Policy (CASP), University of Cambridge. July 2026)

Spiritual Spell - Opus 4.7 system prompts extraction - May 21, 2026

Hi all,

u/Spiritual_Spell_9469 asked me to share the latest Opus 4.7 system prompts extraction he did today (May 21, 2026).

u/shiftingsmith of r/claudexplorers has also shared his Opus 4.7 system prompts extraction here.

For comparison, here was my Opus 4.7 system prompts extraction on April 16, 2026. There have been changes, yes, most notably in the user_wellbeing section. I have asked Gemini 3.5 Flash to make a table to show the differences.

Anthropic does publish the system prompts on their website, but often not the full text.

We hope this helps.
