Hey everyone,
Renting a place with an ADU has been a massive win for my wife and me. Having this setup turned a little 2-bed, 1-bath home into a multifamily property where my in-laws can stay, which honestly transformed what felt like an unreachable dream into reality.
But while we've experienced the benefits firsthand, we've also had friends build their own, and the horror stories we've heard from them are wild. Unforeseen expenses, bad contractors who don't care about the work or the mistakes they made.
