Is this Leash Reactivity?
My dog only reacts to leashed dogs. If an off-leash dog runs up to her when she’s on a leash being walked, she’s totally fine and wants to engage. Off leash dogs just chilling in their yards when we walk past - she barely looks at them. But as soon as she sees a dog on a leash - even if it’s a dog she knows and likes - she starts barking, whining, lunging, you name it.
She loves our neighbour’s dog. They play in the yard sometimes, greet each other out front. We drove past that dog once while he was being walked on a leash and she barked at him like she wanted to eat him for breakfast.
I always thought leash reactivity meant a dog reacts when leashed, not that they react to other dogs on leashes. Are there different variations? Is the training approach the same?
