I just visited Point Roberts for the first time yesterday from Vancouver, and I loved it!
I was curious about the following:
Do most residents move here, or is it common for people to spend their whole lives here (apart from going to college, etc.)?
Is there a lot of employment?
How does dating work?
How do teenagers have fun here?
How do young adults have fun?
We probably deserve to be eliminated if we lose to Paraguay, and it’s looking increasingly likely that we will be.
One of the reasons is the new ranking system, where head to head results now take precedence over goal difference. Under the old format, we’d likely have done enough to qualify. Mexico and Germany are already guaranteed to finish top of their groups because they hold the head to head advantage, and will probably rotate their lineups against Czechia, who are on 1 point, and Ecuador, who are also on 1 point.
If goal difference were still the primary tiebreaker, Mexico and Germany would likely still have something to play for in those matches. I’d back both teams to win under those circumstances.
If Czechia and Ecuador win, they’ll both move ahead of us, and that could ultimately be the difference between qualifying and going home.
