BTS of Meng Ziyi & Dylan Wangs kiss scene

For their currently filming drama Empress Reborn. I have to say this is a really good kiss scene...that will probably get cut and look awkward in the real scene due to cuts.

What in the AI...

Found these pictures online and at first I thought it was real and was wondering what event it was 😭. The first picture has Dylan Wang, Chen Zheyuan, Zhang Linghe and Yang Yang 🤦‍♀️

Saw this Valentino post today and got excited to see two fabulous ladies featured together, only to click on it and find lots of negative comments...

Came across this post by Valentino featuring Song Zuer and Zhao Lusi, and unfortunately the comments are mostly from upset fans.

From what I can gather, the main issue is that some fans feel Zhao Lusi didn't receive enough individual recognition and deserved her own post. Recently, after she was seen wearing a Valentino outfit at the airport, the item reportedly sold out, and fans argue that she deserves more acknowledgment from the brand if they're going to feature her, considering the impact she had on sales.

There also seems to be another concern, with some people claiming that Valentino used an AI-generated or heavily edited image of her in the post.

What are some major turn offs you have experienced while watching cdramas that make them less enjoyable for you?

Bland or performative chemistry. I'm all for slow burns or passionate romance or soft ones. But the chemistry and emotional connection has to show. Not even steamy scenes can save bad chemistry or a couple with almost zero onscreen connection.

Distracting makeup - I'm not sure what was going on but Zhao lusi makeup choices in Loves Ambition was taking me out 😭 even in pearl girl. I can't watch dramas where the female leads have been styled like they are influencers and have this generic type of makeup, it's difficult to connect with their characters.

Also despise those heavy white beauty filters they put over the actors to the point you can't even see them express emotions properly.

You know those hyped or highly recommended dramas that you start watching and think “just give it a few more episodes” while also questioning if it’s even worth continuing because it's just not doing anything for you...

That was Hidden Love for me. I really thought sticking it out and even skipping the unnecessarily long childhood arc would be worth it once she grew up and the romance actually started. But nope. The chemistry was so underwhelming. And the love story and scenes were really nothing special.

Imo, watching gorgeous people who can’t act or feel lifeless on screen is actually painful. It's because once in motion, their acting matters more than looks.

Thankfully in cdramas, a lot of good looking actors are also decent or even good. If they know how to use their eyes well, it already makes a huge difference. Zhang Linghe for example does this well and his visuals just elevate it more. I think that's why his considered a good actor.

There have been so many times I didn’t initially find an actor attractive or care about them until their acting won me over. When I started Joy of Life, I remember wishing Zhang Ruoyun was more attractive, but after a few episodes, I stopped caring because he was so charismatic and incredible in the role.

Honestly almost every favorite actor of mine became a favorite because they are good actors who won me over. Even gorgeous ladies like Dilraba, I appreciated her visuals but didn’t really care about her until I watched her dramas. Her aura, beauty and strong screen presence just make her better. Even with Bai Lu, she is so much more beautiful to me because she's a good actress. Same with Xiao Zhan, Bai Jingting, and Wang Xingyue as examples. Wang Xingyue caught my attention more because of his acting in Story of Kunning Palace and The Double.

Being captivating and competent as an actor matters way more. I think styling also plays a huge role in making an actor look better but the truth is you have to atleast have some skills in the acting department.

The way some actors use their eyes, expressions, and emotions is just completely mesmerizing to watch.

For me it’s Xu Ruohan in The Best Thing. They really had everything. The sweetness, the emotional connection, the playful banter, the calm moments, and the hotness ❤️‍🔥, their physical chemistry felt very natural. I also have to praise Xu Ruohan because she has a way of elevating her pairings!

Drama names in order:

  1. The Best Thing

  2. Story of Kunning Palace

  3. Princess Royal

  4. Pursuit of Jade

  5. Loves Rebellion

  6. My Journey to You

  7. Maiden Holmes
