Financial Aid disburses this weekend… What does that mean?

Things to know:

Sign up for e-refund/ direct deposit no later than Friday.

Make sure your e-refund/direct deposit accounts are valid. If you’ve changed banks, closed your account, don’t want it going to your parents account, broke up with your partner and had a shared account, whatever the reason, make sure the account you want is the one you’ve added. Information can be found here to update/add account: https://www.csus.edu/administration-business-affairs/bursar/refunds-disbursements.html

Once your aid disburses, your anticipated aid will go away. This DOES NOT mean your financial aid has gone away or been canceled. It means your aid has disbursed.

E-refunds will go to banks on Monday afternoon. It will then be up to YOUR bank to deposit it into your account. When the aid disburses, it does NOT go to your account immediately. We have to do our part on Monday.

If you do not sign up for e-refund, a paper check won’t be mailed until at the end of that week. It takes time for printing and verification. This is why we STRONGLY ENCOURAGE e-refund. We also cannot tell you when it will arrive. That is up to the Post Office. Checks will be mailed to the address listed as current on your Student Center. Make sure it’s correct by Friday.

The Middle Class scholarship will not disburse until later in the semester.

After this weekend, aid will continue to disburse twice a week through the end of week 4. Beginning week 5, aid will disburse once a week.

If you have a balance after your aid disburses, it is due by 9/11.

Make sure to check your To Do List on your Student Center and complete any items needed for financial aid immediately.
