Feels like insurance is one of those things where you don’t really understand it until something goes wrong audit hits, claim happens, cert gets rejected, whatever it is.

I’ve been going back and forth with Affordable Contractors Insurance recently and realized there were a few things in my setup that probably should’ve been handled differently from day one.

Figured I’m probably not the only one.

What’s something you wish you knew earlier that would’ve saved you money, stress, or headaches?

I’m getting ready to start my first company and I’m trying to figure out the easiest and safest way to form an LLC in North Dakota. At first I thought I could just file everything myself, but after looking into registered agents, state paperwork, and compliance stuff, I started considering using a formation service instead.

The problem is most of the big comparison articles only talk about popular states like Delaware or Wyoming, so it’s been harder to find real feedback from people who actually formed an LLC in North Dakota.

I’m mainly looking for something reliable, simple to use, and not packed with unnecessary upsells since this is my first business and I’m already trying to keep startup costs under control.

For anyone who formed an LLC in North Dakota, which service did you use and would you recommend it for a first time founder?
