Unemployed for 2 Years in my 30s London

I cannot believe I am approaching 2 years of unemployment. I never anticipated the length of time it would take me to find another job after being made redundant in a sales role back in January 2025.

Is there anyone else who has been unemployed for as long as I have? Because I don’t think this is normal or should be normal. I have over 10 years work experience in luxury sales, operational roles and financial services. I’ve had a few offers rescinded, or keep being rejected due to another candidate being closer aligned to what they are looking yet receiving good feedback apart from that.

To the people receiving job offers and getting hired in the 2025 and 2026 job market, how did you do it? what roles are you applying for?

I feel like I am wasting my 30s and I am truly scared of what my future holds staying in London.

Has anyone out there for a job after 2+ years of unemployment?

Anyone else unemployed in their 30s? Struggling to find a job for over a year in London.

I was made redundant in January 2025 in a sales job within financial services. I have over 10 years experiences in sales across luxury retail and financial services. I’ve had hundreds of interviews and had received 3 job offers over the past year with all offers being retracted due to internal changes and hiring freezes. Otherwise I’m being rejected because another candidate has more experience or completely ghosted. I’m even being rejected for retail jobs which I have years of experience in. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong or when this nightmare will end. I’ve had my CV professionally reviewed and tailor them each time to the job role along with cover letters and it’s still not getting me a job.

Is anyone else experiencing the same thing in London for sales jobs?

I’m trying to keep sane and continuing applying to jobs. But this has been a tough 1.5 years of job searching. I’m slowly losing hope
