Me and my friend (18mand 17m) are going on a trip to katmai in july 2027. Ive done a little research on getting there and everything, but we really want to go about this well informed and safely. We understand the actual camp sites are difficult to come by, but we have one month to make this work, so we assumed wed have to go in the backcountry. We would love some help from experienced park goers and tips on getting there, where to stay, being safe, etc. Thanks!

Basically the title, me (17m) and my friend (18m) will be driving from illinois to alaska, and then flying into Katmai to camp in the backcountry. We’re going to be going around July 2027. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! (obviously we are aware of the bears, thats why were going to katmai)
