My Hybrid Lariat Maverick will turn 3 years old next month. I currently have a little under 9,000 miles on the odometer. With the basic warranty expiring, I'm getting mail from Ford offering a Ford Protect plan. I have questions.

Are there any warranties on the Hybrid that last longer than 36 months?

Is an extended warranty (like the Ford Protect plan) a good investment? I've previously driven Toyotas for the last 30 years or so, and never had any non warranty repairs required (fingers crossed).

There are three levels of protection available at various costs. Basic, Extra, and Premium. Any specific recommendations?
