Infinity pencil

My 13 year olds first turning project. Quite proud of him, he has autism and can be very jumpy when something scares him or can hurt him. He handled it like a pro didn't push to hard, he even did the roughing from square without a single catch. I know for a fact i would not have had the stones to go that thin (10mm at the thinest point) on my first turning. Works with infinity pencil nibs. Black walnut with uv finish from blackforest wood co.

First try end grain cutting board

I helped my 13 year old make my wife an end grain cutting board for mothers day. Handle is black walnut main board is purple heart. As a bonus the knife handle was made by me in purple heart using a knife kit. At the moment the board is oiled with cutting board oil. If this splits later why and what did we do wrong other than my son being a little impatient with cleaning all the glue in the tight corner.
