My 13 year olds first turning project. Quite proud of him, he has autism and can be very jumpy when something scares him or can hurt him. He handled it like a pro didn't push to hard, he even did the roughing from square without a single catch. I know for a fact i would not have had the stones to go that thin (10mm at the thinest point) on my first turning. Works with infinity pencil nibs. I helped my 13 year old make my wife an end grain cutting board for mothers day. Handle is black walnut main board is purple heart. As a bonus the knife handle was made by me in purple heart using a knife kit. At the moment the board is oiled with cutting board oil. If this splits later why and what did we do wrong other than my son being a little impatient with cleaning all the glue in the tight corner.
