Horrible experience with Amex
I created my CD account and had to close it.
Couple weeks ago, I tried to deposit my extra money to Amex cd account. Due to both my mom and me on the bank, Amex can't accept wire transactions. I called them, they told me to write a check and sent it to them. I did. Couple weeks later, they cashed my check but didn't deposit my money. I called them again. They said they had my check but they were confused because I had 2 accounts and they didn't know which account they should deposit. I only had 1 cd account which created couple weeks ago. I confirmed with them. Even on the check, I did write deposit to this "account number". They said they would do it and I would see my money in 48 hours. 3 days later, nothing happened. I called again. They said they couldn't connect to their office and asked me to call again. 2 days later, I called again. They said I tried to deposit my money before and it didn't go through so they couldn't deposit my check. They were the one who told me to write the check. Now they said I had to cancel this account and created a different one while they still kept my check. I am so done with these BS so I asked them to return my money. They said they would send the check back to me. Hopefully it won't be lost. Also, if they cashed the check, how can I deposited it back to my bank?
