Hello everyone,

This is my scar after 2 injections of triamcinolone acetonide 40 mg. I’m mainly concerned about the redness and overall appearance.

I’ve received very different recommendations from doctors in the place I live. One doctor suggested vascular laser (PDL) first to reduce the redness.
Another suggested scar revision surgery. Others recommended using silicone plasters for another 6–8 weeks.

I have actually used silicone plasters in the past for around 3 months, but I didn’t notice any visible improvement.

For anyone who has dealt with a similar hypertrophic/keloid scar, What treatment worked best for you, especially for the redness?

PS: I’m South Asian, so I have a darker skin tone.
