Meta for Developers: Has anyone recently passed through business verification and App Review for advanced API access? It doesn't seem possible.
I’ve had my app stuck in “Business Verification In Review” for an absurdly long time, and at this point the entire Meta developer ecosystem feels completely blocked.
My app requires Advanced Access for:
- Messenger permissions
- Instagram Messaging permissions
But here’s the real issue:
Meta’s test user functionality basically stopped working, and creating clone/test accounts is now almost impossible because account creation policies have become insanely strict.
So I’m stuck in a deadlock:
- I can’t complete verification
- I can’t get advanced access
- I can’t create proper test users
- I can’t create additional accounts without them getting flagged/restricted
How are developers supposed to go-live messaging integrations now?
The platform seems to assume every developer already has:
- a fully verified business
- multiple aged real accounts
- existing production infrastructure
…which completely breaks development/testing workflows for smaller teams or indie developers.
What’s even more frustrating is there’s almost no transparency:
- no timeline
- no meaningful support responses
- no explanation for why verification stays “on hold” indefinitely
Is anyone else dealing with this?
Did anyone actually manage to get Business Verification and App Review unstuck recently?
