Most hardworkers here are spineless people pleasers. Rant!!

I see it all the time. The hardworkers being sent to pick up the slack of my fellow dark arts practioners, or what I like to call the Amazon shenanigan olympics, which I am a proud practioner of.

Most of them don't have a back bone. They are the yes person. When asked to go help the do nothings who are blatantly engaging in the warehouse darks arts, they won't challenge leadership. They'll just bendover backwards and do what they are told while muttering under their breath.

How about you try growing a backbone??!! Try challenging leadership to hold the do nothings accountable for not commiting to their fairshare. If many of you all actually had your finances in order, and had any sort of leverage, you wouldn't tolerate being pushed around the way I see you guys getting used and abused.

But you are in survival mode and need the job, so you'll keep being a pushover. Your finances aren't in check and you've already set the expectation that you are a spineless yes person. You are scared to engage in the shenanigan olympics that some of us deploy because you are scared of rustling feathers😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣.

If this post triggers you, its because im highlighting a very deep insecurity that a lot of you hardworkers have.Try growing a backbone.😂😂🤣

Amazon warehouse word of the day : MYOFB

MYOFB = MIND YOUR OWN FUCKING BUSINESS!!!

If people decide to use their time to skip pick and stage MYOFB

If I decide to walk at a 🐌 pace in the warehouse, which i do btw, MYOFB. Dont tell me im hindering anyone, the warehouse is huge, walk around me.

If people are constantly taking vto's, you only see them twice a month and it makes you feel a certain way or you start labelling them lazy, MYOFB. Not everyone who works here is in survival mode.

If at the end they start sending boxes only when the bags are already full af, plus you are tired as hell, and people start scanning some of the boxes as miscassified package to the OV rack, MYOFB. Getting angry about that is above your pay grade, let management deal with it.

Important daily reminder for Amazonians!!

Be the last one in the warehouse, and the first one out.

Walk slowly in the warehouse. Where are you all rushing to and for what?? so I usually clock in at 1:03am, I can see the manager giving standup across the warehouse, by the time I reach there , it’s finished because I walk at a 🐌 pace. There’s nothing important they’re saying anyway and I’m within policy of 5 mins before, 5 mins after for clocking in, so they can’t tell me anything. When it’s time to leave , that’s when I get the energy to brisk walk out of there.

Be friendly, have fun, it makes the day go by faster 🤣😊 but have boundaries with coworkers. They’re not your friends and can’t be trusted for the simple fact that, they need the job and are most likely in survival mode.
No social media giving. No hanging out after work. No talking about personal life.

Do your job well, but don’t overextend yourself, to do extra. Working hard here is one of the biggest mistakes you’ll make here. As the saying goes if hard work led to success, the donkey would own the farm.

Why do some people do this ?

Walking fast.

Walk slow. Even if the there’s a jam on the belt walk slow to unjam the belt. If leadership see you pacing through the warehouse they know this person can be pushed around, and they’ll try you. How many of you have seen leadership running across the warehouse and safety conveniently ignores that despite it not being safe? The job isn’t that serious, actually think about the safety they preach and take your time.

Personally I walk at a 🐌 pace, so I’ve already set a precedent that I can’t be pushed around here.

Extensive guide for newbies on how to survive working at Amazon warehouse.

  1. You’re there to make money not friends.

Everyone knows Amazon is high school 2.0. Anyone gets hired. There’s hardly any filter on who can join. The warehouses are full of backstabbing, passive aggressiveness, bullying, gossiping, politics and fake people.

Just think about the environment you’re in. It’s night time, people are exhausted, they’re depressed, dealing with stuff at home, they’re in pain and have to deal with the tough fast pace of the job. Perfect combination for a crash out environment, not a good environment to make good genuine friends. It’s survival mode.

Some people in the warehouse don’t have boundaries, they’re too friendly and too open. They start blabbing about their lives and personal stuff going on in their lives. They add coworkers on social media 🤦.That’s how the bullying starts, that’s how the gossiping starts. Lack of boundaries.

Be cordial with people and friendly but don’t get too close . Don’t tell them stuff you’re going through, keep things work related and you’ll be straight. Don’t add people on social media and don’t hang out after work. Clock in clock out and you’ll be alright . Me personally I’m the quiet guy who engages in small talk, does the job and goes home, and ofc they don’t like that . They’re looking for information about me.

2. Archetypes of people to avoid in the Amazon warehouse.

  1. People who are overly eager for vets and go around proudly proclaiming that they’ve done nothing but 60’s every week. AVOID. Nothing wrong with getting ahead or saving up but, you have to understand this types of people are in survival mode and when push comes to shove, they’ll throw you under the bus lmao🤣. You think when you get into an incident they’ll help and back you with hr? 🤡

  2. Amazon t1 lifers. These are the people who’ve been tier 1 for 3 years plus and have no intentions of moving up or using career choice. AVOID THEM. You’ll notice they think they’re the ceo of the company who think they run the company and have the right to tell you what to do, despite both of you being at the same level. Lifers usually tend to be older and they feel a certain way when they see new people, especially younger people join with ease because it makes them feel a certain way about why they still haven’t progressed or moved on to something better despite all these years.

  3. People pleasers. AVOID THEM. These are people who suck up to managers or to coworkers who they know are talking rubbish about them. A manager will ask them to stay one hour, even if they don’t want to, they’ll stay because they want to people please. Why? Because they are in survival mode, and another thing about people pleasers is that, you don’t know where they stand. If they had their finances right, they wouldn’t be bending over backwards, so their people pleasing is fake. They are in survival mode and can’t be trusted.

  4. People who are overly open, overly friendly and all of a sudden they start gossiping🚩. AVOID THEM. They’re only really nice so they can lower your defences and get close to you to get information about you. When you start gossiping back that information can be leveraged against you. Just don’t gossip. It’s true what they say about gossipers, if they gossip with you, they also gossip about you. I had a coworker who claimed to be one of the most genuine people I’d ever meet 🚩🤡, then he started mad gossiping.

  5. Pocket watchers. People who ask you why you didn’t show up to work, or only show up two, maybe once a week because you keep taking vto. Misery loves company, and they hate the fact that they don’t have that option to be able to vto anytime they want . You’ll be labelled as “lazy”

Ofc with the archetypes I’ve mentioned, not all of them are like that but in my experience, there’s plenty of people who behave just how I’ve described it .

3. Working hard is a scam and management is useless.

Don’t work hard, work smart. Working hard leads to more thankless work and leadership know who to try. I’m not saying be lazy, do your job well, but don’t go above and beyond for this job. You’re just a number to them and if you got fired, you’ll be replaced next day and forgotten. There’s plenty of people sitting at home waiting for Amazon . They’ll literally do nothing all day other than refresh the Amazon page waiting to replace you. You should be the first one out and last one clocked in.

Don’t waste your time sucking up to leadership, they don’t care . A lot of these managers and supervisors are clowns and shouldn’t be in managerial positions. Most of them don’t have managerial skills or experience, they’re just graduates with degrees which feeds more into the high school environment you’re already in.

A lot of managers suffer from a loss of identity because they’re pretending to be someone they’re not, but they occasionally let their mask slip. You’ll try to talk to them they’ll be disinterested and quick to rush and end the convo or you’ll talk to them about something that is bothering you, and nothing will be done.

I had a manager who would ask you how you are with a smile on his face, and before you even reply, he’s already walked off. It’s fake and very robotic, I bet they now even use chat gpt to reply those my voice complaints. They don’t feel genuine. The point is, trying to impress them with your crazy numbers is a waste of time, hit your target and go home, unless you like being punished with more work.

4. Develop a backbone, an Amazon principle

Final and most important point. Be smart with your 🤑 and utilise career choice . A lot of people tolerate a lot of crap in this warehouses because they didn’t get their money right or use career choice . When you actually have finances sorted, you can develop a back bone and you can challenge or call out the bs. A lot of people especially the hard workers are spineless , which is a direct reflection of their back accounts.

Use career choice to move on to better and get your money right so the job doesn’t have any leverage over you .
