Unable to chat

I can't chat in any streamers chat. The text input box is not there. The chat is visible and just goes down past the task bar. I have logged out, re-logged in. I noticed this at home, now back at work on a different PC, it is the same. I can chat on the Twitch app though. Any ideas?

Starting my own shop~

Hey everyone,

I’ve been in the sign industry roughly 5yrs. I work at a shop now that has its own printer, laminator, plotter, attached shop where we fab cabinets and do local installs.

My boss is hinting that he wants out and wants to do owner financing with me. However, I’m not interested in doing the shop/install side of things. I don’t want to be in debt to my boss for another 10years paying for the building and business.

Recently we’ve started using trade websites to fulfill larger orders and I realized that I could just branch off and start my own shop and run almost exclusively off a trade site and a small office. I would do that and buy a plotter for in-house cut vinyl orders. The only thing I would miss is doing ACM orders. Theres good profit in those and I can’t find a trade site that does ACM.

My main goal is to start my own business, make extra income from something I enjoy and have experience in, low overhead and I would LOVE to get away from walk-ins. I just need to figure out order pick ups. Unless I just ship straight to the customers business. Any ideas?

Anyone have some tips or experience in doing this? This would be a part time venture for me at first so not super critical that i won’t be full service.

Commercial Service Contracting?

Hey everyone,

I have a quick inquiry on starting a business where you basically are a GC, but for commercial services or even residential. I saw a post on here about someone asking about starting one as a painting contractor where he doesn’t ever touch a brush.

Does something like that exist for other services/all services without having the experience and field hours for GC? I’m guessing like some sort of project manager type deal? I don’t know what the title for this is, can anyone chime in?

I have experience working at a sign company, with permits, installs and shop work, but really I’d love to get jobs and sub them out and then potentially scale from there. Anyone have experience on what this takes or first steps? Any input is appreciated!
