Got my first paid restaurant gig and then got told my work is terrible
I’m a photographer that shoots small businesses, families, and now I’m expanding into restaurant photography. I got my first paid shoot for a local restaurant and I was excited to share the gallery because I was pretty proud of my work, but when I heard back (after 3 follow ups and after they posted one of my photos on their IG story) I got called the worst photographer they have ever seen and that my work is absolutely terrible. I don’t believe that, but I do know there’s opportunity to improve, but would love some genuine thoughts on these photos. Would also like to gauge what you think I should have charged for this shoot. Curious how it compares with what I actually charged. I delivered 28 images in the final gallery. For context- I have been a professional photographer for about a year and have focused mainly on families/couples/maternity but have recently started shooting coffee shops, wine bars, local jewelry makers, etc. I’m not brand new to photography but it is a fairly new business for me.
