I just watched this the other day and regret not seeing it sooner. It has less blantant surrealism as other Lynch movies but it still has so many of his other trademarks I don't understand why it is considered "not lynchian." The scene with the woman who keeps hitting deer with her car could have been in wild at heart easily. All of the old men characters in this movie made me want to cry. I would love to hear some thoughts from people who can articulate their thoughts better than I can, but I really loved this movie.
