Day 1 post extraction vs Day 8

Update on my extraction. Today is day 8. First photo is how they looked 8 hours after extracting and second photo was today.
One popped up on my pubic area and I got it out. I’ll keep taking them out as they come, so far I feel like I’m healing up well. Idk if the one from today was one I had missed because today I trimmed after weeks of not shaving and i noticed a bump.
Anyone have scar cream recs? Some you can’t even see anymore but I feel like the bigger ones may scar 🤔 I’m not sure though yet, it’s still early.

Day 5 & 6 of self extraction

Another update for those that asked
Photo #1: this was taken yesterday (day 5 post self extraction) as you can see, I have one circled. Today I realized there was still apart of the core in there. I went swimming in a chlorine pool, I got out and noticed a very small white head, I picked it right off and sanitized my hands and the area before and after. Bled like hell. But Im almost 100% sure that was the very last one.
Photo #2: this was taken just now, I have bandaids covering the ones that are not fully scabbed over yet. As well as the one I finished extracting today. These fuckers are ruthless! But I think being in a chlorine pool helped push the rest of the core out bc it literally came out so easy.

So far, so good.

Day 5 post self extractions

I just wanted to continue to post my self extraction journey for all who are interested, in my personal opinion, this is the only way to clear them up as fast as possible if you can’t get into a derm asap to get them removed. I’ve dealt with them for 3 months.
The first picture is when I noticed my molluscum (2 months ago), the second photo is after I pissed them off (inflamed and cores are ready to extract), the 3rd photo was taken 8 hours after extraction. The 4th photo is what my wounds look like today (5 days later). I’m Healing up incredible, no new bumps since. If you’re thinking about self extracting— do it. I’ve posted how I did it in this group, if you need help finding my post, the link to my post is in the comments. 🙏💙 best of luck.

EDIT: I did not know I had molluscum up until a couple weeks ago. That first photo was taken on May 29th when I noticed they were spreading. The second photo was taken July 29th (one month later) after finding this forum. For 2 days, I dabbed apple cider vinegar on them to piss them off, then applied pimple patches for 2 days straight. Once I knew they were angry and could see the core, I started my extraction process. Before extraction, I took a Dead Sea salt bath (but a shower will do just fine) because it helped make the core more noticeable and easy to extract.

Well, I did it. Self extraction! Anyone have aftercare advice?

Hi all, for the past week I’ve been scrolling through this forum like crazy. Refreshing it hourly to see if anyone had a cure to this horrible virus. Reading others stories— fails, successes. I’ve had molluscum for 2 maybe 3 months. Like many others, I was misdiagnosed with folliculitis. I knew that wasn’t what it was, but still went ahead and took what my dr prescribed (an antibiotic and a cream called mupirocin). It did nothing, surprise surprise 🙄. Went back to a different doctor who confirmed it was molluscum and to see a dermatologist. I can’t get into a derm until another month, and honestly I just couldn’t take it anymore. I mean, it’s not like there’s a cure for this bullshit anyway. I saw success stories on here from people doing self extraction so I thought well wtf do I have to lose. I Called up a loved one and they helped me get these fuckers out. I had about 20 lesions all over my bikini area, a couple on my butt and few on my pelvis. Here’s how I did it (based off of what I’ve read on here with other successes)..

What I used:
• Iodine
• Rubbing alcohol (at least 91% but I used 99%)
• Q-tips
•Cotton balls or pads
•Gloves
•Tweezers
•Scalpel or curettage (I used a scalpel I couldn’t find a curettage asap)
• Small bandaids

Aftercare:
•Antibacterial soap (I have one prescribed to me from my misdiagnosis)
•Salicylic acid body wash (I’m using breakout banisher by peach slices)
•Antibacterial ointment like Neosporin or Bacitracin
hydrocolloid patches
•More bandaids

Make sure to keep a cup full of alcohol to disinfect your Scalpel/curettage, and tweezers off after every extraction. When it’s time to start extracting wear gloves, DAB (not rub) rubbing alcohol all over affected area, then poke a small incision into the lesion, for some bigger ones you may have to make
More of a very small slit, don’t apply a lot of pressure to prevent scarring! Once you make a small hole, grab some tweezers and get that son of a bitch out, it’ll be a pearl looking clump, it’s going to bleed A LOT— so make sure you cover it with a swab or cotton ball immediately. Once it’s out put some alcohol on a cotton ball/pad and apply, then put iodine on a cotton ball/q tip and apply it to the wound. After that, get one of those small circular waterproof bandaids and pop it on. Repeat until all those mother fuckers are out! If it’s overwhelming— take a break! I know how hard it is to sit there and extract for so long. It took me about an hour and a half.

Anyway, now I’m sitting here typing this with lots of bloody bandaids on me but my plan for tomorrow is to take all the bandaids off and hop in the shower. Wash with antibacterial soap and then when I’m out I’ll put some antibacterial ointment on before reapplying bandaids. I know I mentioned Salicylic acid body wash but I don’t plan to use that until a couple days into my recovery. As I don’t want to use too many products on my now open wounds.

Also, as mentioned.. anyone have any other aftercare advice? Anything is appreciated.

**I am NOT a medical professional. My experience is all based off of 2 years of nursing school that did not teach this shit and this reddit forum that taught me way more (I’ve read back all the way to 3 years ago, that’s how desperate I was) 😂.

BEST of luck with anyone on their journey and PLEASE feel free to share your self extracting success stories as I could use it.

EDIT: using 91% of alcohol might be better. 99% will be evaporating more rapidly, so it will have less time to contact with skin. 91% is going to stay on the surface more, meaning more effective.

Beginning of the end?

Is this the beginning of the end they speak of? Starting to look dried out, some became flat but still red as you can see. Is this it?? 🙏 😩

Help! Folliculitis or Molluscum?

After 2 mo I finally went to urgent care to get an opinion, I’ve been under the impression I had molluscum because I’ve tried to pop one and it came out in a pearl like clump then bled like crazy. I’ve been treating it as if it was molluscum.. doing pimple patches, apple cider vinegar, mud masks, Dead Sea baths, so on and so forth. At the urgent care she prescribed me and antibacterial cream and an antibiotic. The first picture is how it started and the second picture is how it looks right now, I’ve been purposely trying to piss it off to get my immune system to notice and attack it. What do you think? Folliculitis or Molluscum?

How did yours start?

Hi. For about a month, I’ve been thinking I had molluscum. Because when I pop these they come out like a hard pearl. What started as this, now turned into this (see pictures). Because Ive been treating it as molluscum and based on my knowledge of it, I know you want to encourage information so that your immune system could take care of it, but I went to the walk-in today and was told it’s folliculitis. So I’m wondering, did you start off the way mine looks? I have it all around my bikini area and two more on my genital area. I know people with molluscum often get misdiagnosed as folliculitis. I went to an urgent care and she put me on an antibacterial cream as well as antibiotic. So, how did your folliculitis begin? Did it look similar to my first picture? Thanks!!!

Anyone try liquid bandaid? Also listed other products below.

Hi. Has anyone tried this liquid bandage? My current regimen I’m trying is applying a mud clay mixture for about a half an hour at night, after 30 min I wash it off, then dab the area ( groin, legs and bikini area ) with apple cider vinegar and letting it dry, after that i put pimple patches over at night. I do not wash off the apple cider vinegar.

I Might try the mud clay mask, wash w/ water, Apple cider, liquid bandage and then applying pimple patches at night on top of the liquid bandage. This shit is killing me.

Here are products I have NOT used yet but will be if this doesn’t work.

- Gotucream (I have it coming in the mail at some point this week)
- tea tree oil pimple patches (I’ve just been using the regular ones because the tea tree ones will arrive tonight)
- Differin Gel ( I used it once but stopped because I have sunburn and didn’t want to flare anything up)

Please if anyone has tried any of these, let me know how they worked for you and what your routine was. I didn’t even realize o had this the past two months, this entire time I thought these were pimples or ingrown hairs. Yes, I was confused when pus didn’t come out but instead it was a hard lump, and I was even more confused when the bleeding wouldn’t stop for a while after extraction— but my dumb ass just carried on and thought it would go away. No one talks about this virus enough, most things you read online say “it’s harmless and will go away” no one talks about how depressing it makes you feel, how insecure you feel in your own body, how you don’t attend certain events or have to turn down physical contact. I’m already a germophobe. This made me 100 times worse. My hands are so dry from the constant washing. I work with kids, I think that’s how I got it. I know once your immune system kicks in it won’t come back— but fuck, this feels like it’s taking over my entire life.

***EDIT: I’ve also been using peach slices breakout banisher body wash. Every single shower I take (everyday sometimes even twice in the shower) ***

Please help! Has anyone tried any of these products??

I have this virus on my groin and bikini line, it seems a like it’s spreading down my thighs. I’m so desperate for a cure. Anyone tried any of these products? I tried pimple patches the last 24 hours. Now today i did a mix of differin gel and diaper rash cream and bandaged everything up. I haven’t tried the compound W liquid yet.

Anyone else affected by Innovative Partners health coverage?

I’m wondering if anyone else here enrolled in a health plan through Innovative Partners and had problems with coverage?!

I’m so pissed!! I signed up believing I was purchasing legitimate health insurance, but I’ve since learned there is ongoing legal action involving the company. During the time I was enrolled, I experienced issues with prescriptions not being covered and medical bills that I expected would be covered under my plan. Anyone else fall for this scam???
