Snif fragrances
Hello! I’m new to fragrances and trying to get out there and smell more smells to grow my collection. I already know I prefer mostly sweet and gourmand scents so I recently went to Ulta to try out their Snif testers because I have heard so many positive and interesting reviews. There were a few that I thought smelled ok initially on the tester strips and I really liked the Swede Tooth one. It smelled exactly like a watermelon jolly rancher to me. I thought about buying the bottle of that then and there but ended up buying the snack pack sample kit which had a sample of that included.
It turned out that the watermelon smell only lasted for about 20 minutes, and what was left on my skin was a kind of resinous woody smell that I think was the cedar note? And I hated it. I was genuinely shocked that something that started out smelling amazing could turn into something that I wanted to escape my own skin to get away from.
I tried out the other ones in that pack as well. The naughty nonna had that same atrocious smell to it as well after 15 minutes, although it does not have that cedar note listed. Crumb couture and soda snob weren’t quite as bad, but I can definitely tell there is something that I think Snif uses in most of their fragrances that doesn’t sit well with me. I wanted to like these but I just couldn’t.
I can’t tell if there is a specific ingredient I need to avoid or if I will just have to give up on Snif and look elsewhere to smell delicious.
