EU citizen wanting to apply to medicine in Denmark. A few questions
Hi,
As a EU citizen but with a non EU high school diploma (Canada), I would like to take Denmark's GIF program to get a Danish high school diploma so I can apply to medicine via Quota 1 and not Quota 2.
I do not speak Danish, but I speak Swedish and so I am hoping that within a year of intense study I can learn Danish.
I am wondering though about a couple of things. I've read that there is a projected surplus of doctors in Denmark by 2035. If I am wiling to live and study anywhere in Denmark, is that still an issue?
Is it realistic to get a residency in a less competitive specialty (non family medicine) if you do it somewhere rural in Denmark?
I see there are universities with more rural campuses, including a university like Copenhagen which has a campus in Køge. I know medicine in general is competitive to get into, but what kinds of grades are needed for these schools? I.e. are these rural campuses much easier to obtain admission?
If you take the GIF exam program, do medical schools still look at your non EU high school diploma GPA or just your GIF exam program GPA?
Thank you very much!
