It appears Reddit's new API policy has broken the ability to have custom builds of RedReader?

I've been using a "self served" app API token generated at https://old.reddit.com/prefs/apps for a custom fork of the RedReader app.

This week my build randomly stopped working showing API login errors. I went to make a new app API token at https://old.reddit.com/prefs/apps but couldn't which got me to this post in this sub about Reddit's new "Responsible Builder Policy confirming the ability to "self serve" app tokens has been removed. They also stated "current access won’t be affected" but the timing of all of this seems a bit odd given my issues.

Any ideas on things I could check/test?

Please suggest. Looking for fun, musical, non fatiguing IEMs that have detail at mid/lower volumes.

Hi all,

My city doesn't have any Chi-fi for me to try so I'm struggling to find what I like. After a few weeks of watching/reading/learning I grabbed a pair of Fosi IM4s for $128 AUD (~$90 USD) and I've not been blown away. They lacked bass, I also found them fatiguing after a couple songs, and they didn't sound "better"/more fun than my bluetooth Sony WH-1000XM4s.

I EQ'd them with my TRN Black Pearl DAC which helped their "fun"/punchiness/bass, but I still found them tiring as they mostly only showed details/discernible instrument separation/good live vocals at higher volumes and I mostly prefer lower/mid volumes. I know the Sony's aren't top shelf so I want something that would be considered an upgrade over them, but I do at least find them easy to listen to and it probably confirms I'm fine with a "consumer friendly" sound signature, so any suggestions that are:

  • Non-fatiguing, and primarily still sound good/enjoyable with detail/separation/and a little bass at mid/lower volumes.
  • Something primarily "fun"/musical and enjoyable to listen to. I guess I'm not analytical, but I want good, fun sound. I enjoy live music and am sensitive to things sounding "muddy". So something that allows each instrument to shine and helps me engage with the emotions in someone's voice.
  • Ideally $150-300 AUD ($100-210 USD).

My main genre is metal/rock but I have a lot of genres in my mixes so something consumer friendly/versatile. I want to feel the bass when an electronic/pop track comes on. For what it's worth AI suggested "Warm/Warm Harman, Mild V-shaped, Relaxed treble, Musical, Smooth" based on my complaints and comparing to my Sony's.

The Aful Explorers keep sounding of interest, but most comments say they "scale" and "sound best at louder volumes" which turns me off. So basically a sound that a generic person would say "wow, that sounds good" and something that would still impress me over my bluetooth Sony's at moderate volumes when it comes to quality/detail/musicality/fun.

Thanks!
