My fondest memories from childhood. Life as an early Manson fan since 1997
Long time lurker posting for the first time in a while.
Since Mansons new sober era has emerged I’ve been reminded how amazing this man is and how he’s shaped the person I am today. I’ve appreciated all bodies of his work and I feel like being such a long time fan I’ve experienced similar ups and downs. It truly feels like I’ve grown up with Manson in a lot of ways.
Anyway, I just wanted to share this photo of me in the 5th grade. That same year I got to meet my idol backstage at Shoreline Amphitheater in California where he performed the Smashing Pumpkins song, Eye, with Billy Corgan (they also performed an acoustic version of The Beautiful People) I remember meeting him with my grandmother and the first thing she asked him was if “that was his real eye” to which he responded, “no it’s just a contact lense.” He was so kind and down to earth that day. It is such a fond memory for me. I am just beyond grateful to see him healthy and grounded again. It brings tears to my eyes because I care so deeply for this man.
