은/는 vs 이/가

Hi!
은/는 vs 이/가 seems to confuse a lot of beginners, so I wanted to try explaining it short and simple.
Hope this helps☺️

은/는 when you set the topic, or compare things.
ex) 저는 학생이에요. (I’m the topic here, so 는)
저는 커피를 좋아해요. 동생은 주스를 좋아해요. (comparing two people, so 은/는)

이/가 for new information, the subject (if you take it out, people will ask “who?” or “what?”)
ex) 그 남자가 왔어요. (“Man” is new info, so 가)

I made a little quiz so you can try it yourself!🎯

  1. 여기 고양이>!가!< 있어요.
  2. 제 이름>!은!< 철수예요.
  3. 꽃>!이!< 예뻐요.
  4. 오빠는 키가 커요. 저>!는!< 키가 작아요.
