8.25 Issues

** update - after the comments it seemed to be the consensus was probably congestion or interference. I can see my neighbours 5ghz was using the same channel as me, not sure why the auto channel wasn't kicking in but have manually moved this. There is a very strong signal that appears in 2.4 so I've moved that channel to see if that makes a difference **

I have a 7530 AX generally it's been an excellent router. However since mid May we have been having issues. I think it maybe down to the 8.25 update but posting to see if anyone else is seeing these issues.

We have an fibre to cabinet so our internet speed is down around 50 Mbps up between 8-11 Mbps

2.4 GHz channel, we have around 30 devices most smart and grim time to time the 2.4 channel goes very slow - can be below 5 and up much less. So slow the Alexa devices don't respond or respond very slowly. I had to move all the main devices TVs and laptops to the 5ghz channel as a result . We don't have many something like 6

5ghz channel my wife and I both work from home and since may we will get odd stutters and the internet can get laggy. It's sporadic so speed tests don't seem to determine anything.

Wired if I move my wife to wired - cable across the house then the odd stutters reduce for me, still there but only very occasionally. She doesn't then get any issues.

We have had the line checked a number of times, though due to how sporadic it is we can't rule that out but on wired my wife sees no issues. We have less active devices on our network now than we had pre may as our son is currently away so all in can think it's the 8.25 update is the issue.

Is it possible to downgrade an update? Has anyone else experienced similar with 8.25? We don't live in a massively built up area so I don't think it's wireless interference (I have used WiFi scans to check) and I'm aware when the microwave is on this week impact the 2.4 channel.

Zen - is there a difference if I change

I've been with zen previously and I rejoined them as I perceived their customer service was good for an isp, the router seemed good and it felt a little bit off main stream.

Everything has been fine / great even till about a month ago when we started seeing lag spikes in teams calls. I then noticed that the 2.4ghz network at times could be dire. My internet is not great (50/11) but at times it would be under 2/2, 5ghz remained good - bit with these lag spikes.

So I contacted zen, in my mind the latest fritzbox update (.25) is the issue and tbh whilst their support is responsive we are going around in circles.

- line reports fine but it's an intermittent issue

- if I change the WiFi then it's all good but then that's with 1 device on it so whilst it's interesting I'm not sure it proves a lot and bringing all the smart devices back in line is a task and a half, we have a few main devices and then maybe 20/30 smart devices

- 5ghz is generally fine with the lag

- direct cable is still inconclusive as we haven't seen an issue in it but then the other pc on the WiFi network is fine during the testing

- I get a different support person for the same issue which just leads to a disjointed discussion

My thoughts are to change the router, I'm convinced the Fritzupdate has caused it and if it's the line I'm not making any progress with zen.

If I change to another open reach supplier such as sky - are they effectively all the same, as the line to the host is the same or is zen giving me value for the connection side (appreciating they have little control on the open reach side and can't put a line monitor)
