scared & sad

So I had RFF Phalloplasty on June 17th and recovery was going great until the tip started bleeding and my Penrose drain fell out which I think led to a gnarly concerning wound separation that is infected. And what’s worse is that my urethra at the end is next to it I think and is dying, I’m not sure what the situation is but my surgeon said it might affect my ability to get UL to stand to pee and that I might not be able to get that anymore but it all depends on if my wound heals and if urology can fix it or something. But rn all I can do is hope that the antibiotics work and that when I get my skin graft surgery on Tuesday they’re gonna also clean the wound up and everything. But I’m PRAYING my urethra gets better bc all I’ve wanted is to stand to pee, that’s literally one of the reasons that I got phalloplasty. I’m just bummed asf. But good news is that my phallus has stopped bleeding and my surgeon said it looked healthy. But yeah it sucks.

Caregiver responsibilities

I’m about a month out now from stage one RFF phalloplasty and am recovery at my boyfriend’s house due to my family being transphobic. My boyfriend’s parents will pretty much never be home cuz of work so my friends will be doing most of the caring. What would the caregiver responsibilities entail?

Edit: I’m obviously going to ask my surgeon’s team about it but I want to know from personal experience :)
