Bad rust on Frankie’s Red

Hi all, it’s late winter and rust has spread pretty badly after a cold damp winter. This Frankie’s Red really is hard to maintain! There’s now whole branch sides that are just orange! These swell and become black underneath. I’ve been spraying copper fungicide and some sulfur to try to keep this in check. Recently I’ve also started foliar spraying Ascophyllum nodosum. I hope to improve the plant’s resistance this way.

Many of the branches are very orange but im stubbornly keeping as many as possible. I’m trying a strategy now of slicing off the top really orange skin, and covering them in cinnamon.

Does anyone have similar experience? Should I chop and cut my losses?

Dragonfruit canker?

Hi all

Today I noticed oozing from a new dragonfruit stem. I thought it was rust but there is now liquid coming out which the ants seem to like. I guess this might be canker - in which case, is it time to remove this stem?

Thanks!
