So, let’s talk about the elephant in the room.

So, let’s talk about the elephant in the room.

With all of the positive changes going on with the team in terms of roster composition and front office acumen, the fan base has some high expectations about how soon we can become a contender.

I don’t know much about the guy, but I do know how important it is to find the right leader from a head coach perspective. Before all of the latest developments and player acquisitions, he was considered just a guy who would be in charge during the tanking process.

We may want to temper expectations way back, until the team came make sure they get the right guy to lead the squad. This team seems to have a lot of strong personalities and an interesting mix of young talent and vets.

What can we realistically expect with this guy in charge?

What Separates Darryn Peterson From Other Guards (Film Breakdown)

My algorithm seems to be stuck on Darryn Peterson. This is a pretty good breakdown of his game. Anybody find any similar breakdowns for AJ's game, and what makes him special/unique out there?

Who are we NBA-comping these versions of AJ and DP to, ceiling-wise?

Not too long now fellows, let’s kill some more time until the pick tonight 😂. I didn’t see this video posted on here, but for reference and discussion’s sake on the day of the draft, let’s discuss…

Let me preface, I am not saying that he is any way going to have a career like Kobe, but Peterson’s movements and game resemble Kobe a lot for a young talent. I know this is a high school matchup, but looking at the video, who are we saying AJ ‘s game/movement/mindset map to?

For further context, I am referencing this video primarily, but also what we’ve seen throughout this year.

By the way, that game winner by DP in the video is legit 👌🔥

Man! DP looks really good 👀 Such a smooth bucket. Come on Wizards, don't mess this one up!

Man, looking at these latest highlights of Peterson, he seems like a true No. 1 out of all the picks. Yes AJ has the athleticism and size and his highlights are impressive, but Peterson is just such a smooth scorer and his game looks like it will transfer very well to the next level.

The injury thing seems like a fluke, and the questioning of his attitude is really ridiculous. You don't get this good at this young age without work ethic and drive. Honestly, I think the playing up of his behavior from this past year is mainly to drive his stock down, so that other teams will have a shot at drafting him.

Ultimately, if they draft AJ, he may have a solid career, I just don't see the same ceiling when I watch him play and a lot of his highlights from last year, you really have to look at the competition. Peterson, on the other hand 😮‍💨

Caleb Wilson needs to be seriously considered.

Trade back with the Jazz if you have to and gain some more assets, but this guy is going to be something!

I love that the Wizards have THE choice in this draft.
