Hi all,
I would appreciate some advice with a flexible working request I plan to submit. One day working from home.

I currently work for a company who do not allow people to work from home unless you submit a formal request. There are however many senior members of staff who do work from home, including my boss. He travels between cities and works from home when in his home town, there is an office in his home town.

I work alone, I only report to my manager, who I rarely speak to, I don’t work with any colleagues, if I need to speak to someone it’s usually a teams call. I don’t directly work with any colleagues, only my manager tasks me.

I live around 25 mins away from home, which I am very grateful for. My husband works 2 jobs so we can afford our bills and living costs, which means the majority of household responsibilities fall on me, which is something I’m fine with as he’s bringing in extra income. When I come back from work it’s like I’m on a very tight schedule to get things done, sometimes I’m too tired to exercise which previously really helped my mental health. I’ve suffered from burnout a couple of times, it would be useful to just have one day at home where I can wake up a little early, do some of these chores during my one hour break, and finish work without the commute home.

Here are the benefits:
Ability to exercise guaranteed once a week
Improved productivity
Work life balance
Reduced petrol costs, a little goes a long way
Improved concentration, less noise and no horrible office lighting!
Reduced risk of burnout
I have demonstrated the ability to work alone
Still willing to attend the office if needed

Do you think these are good enough reasons?

It just so happens I’ve got my Jupiter return!! First house at 5 degrees kapow!!

I’ve been quietly been working my ass off at the gym, booked beauty and aesthetic appointments at the end of the month. I am so ready!!!
