Microsoft Edge stutters more than other browsers when resizing the viewport

I'm a software enngineer, and I frequently have to try UI designs on different screen sizes or use the DevTools just to debug the code, so changing the size of the browser's viewport is not unusual in my workflow. Microsoft Edge is my browser of choice both for work and personal usage, but I have noticed that debugging my layouts has become a tad triggering because Edge seems to use too many resources when resizing the screen, even when it comes to simple grid and flexbox layouts, which causes a noticeable delay in the display of the re-rendered UI and makes my PC's fans go bonkers instantly. I was able to reproduce this behaviour in two different machines with different setups. I don't remember this happening a few months ago, so it might have been caused by a recent update.

Do you have any idea what could be causing the stuttering?

I know it is an Edge issue because even Google Chrome renders the refreshed screen more smoothly, and they are both supposed to use the same layout engine (Blink); but I have to say Firefox is the winner in performance this time, as the Gecko-based rendering is almost immediate. Hardware acceleration is enabled on Edge; I thought it was supposed to make it run faster specifically for situations like this, but it turns out it's not helping much. Please try reproducing this issue in your machines.

I really like Edge and want to keep using it as my main broswer, but this issue is making me rethink my choices.

This is a video demonstating the aforementioned issue and comparing the performance of all three major browsers upon resizing the viewport.
