Dog food type: all or large?

We recently have been transitioning to Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin & Stomach: Salmon & Rice formula ALL BREEDS. We are doing this due to him potentially not being able to handle his current food. He’s been on boiled chicken and rice since diarrhea started which has helped and slowly switching him to this kibble.

Anyway, now I realize there’s also the same exact food but specifically for LARGE BREEDS. I know all breeds MEANS all breeds but is there any advantage to giving him the large breed food?

I wouldn’t even transition him to it until he has been having normal stools regularly with the all breeds formula (it has been a long month of on and off diarrhea). Just want to know if it’s worth it.

Thanks!

Recurring Diarrhea

We recently got our 1 and a half old male lab neutered (beginning of June). About 4 days in, he started to have diarrhea and we assumed it was from of the medications and the vet suggested bland diet.

Things started to improve and we also go a GI antibiotic & probiotics. Once his poop was solid, I started introducing kibble back in. Only like 1/2 cup kibble the rest was chicken and rice. After about 2-3 days of this the diarrhea returned. Very frustrating.

He overall is still eating as normal (back to just chicken and rice) and his diarrhea is somewhat improving but I feel like he’s kind of drinking less water and has a tad less energy than normal.

I called the vet today to update and they’ll get back to me tomorrow but has anyone else dealt with this almost recurring GI issue? He’s not allergic to chicken as far as we know. The diarrhea actually gets better when he’s on chicken and rice.
