Side stand extender

I was using this side stand extender for my Vulcan, and I noticed that one of the screws suddenly fell off. I'm not sure whether a similar replacement screw is easily available. Do I just need to find a matching screw, or should I replace the entire extender?

how do you handle rear tyre changes/punctures?

I recently replaced both tyres on my 2019 Kawasaki Vulcan S in Bangalore/India.

I fitted a Michelin Road 6 120/70 ZR18 on the front and a Vredestein 160/60 R17 on the rear.

The tyre replacement itself wasn't the difficult part. The surprisingly difficult part was finding a tyre shop with a rear paddock stand that can actually lift the Vulcan S without hitting the stock rear number plate/fender.

I had to visit multiple tyre shops before finding one where the stand could reach the rear lifting points without interfering with the number plate.

This made me wonder about something more important:

What do Vulcan S owners do if they get a rear puncture or need a rear-wheel/tyre change somewhere away from home?

Not only in Indian i e beleive everywhere carrying a large/long rear paddock stand around the city isn't really practical. Also, these Vulcan-compatible stands aren't particularly easy to find here.

I've seen some solutions mentioned by owners:

  • Removing the number plate/bracket temporarily
  • Using a longer/forward-handle paddock stand
  • Removing a small reflector bracket
  • Using specific stands that clear the stock fender
  • Some type of portable lifting/jacking solution

But I'd really like to hear from actual Vulcan S owners who have dealt with this themselves.

A few questions:

  1. What rear stand are you using with the stock Vulcan S fender/number plate?
  2. Can you use it without removing or modifying the number plate bracket?
  3. What do you do for a puncture when you're away from home?
  4. Has anyone found a compact/portable solution that can be carried on the bike?
  5. if some owners in India here , what solution have you actually found practical
  6. I've attached a few photos showing my recent tyre change and the type of clearance issue I'm talking about.

I'd especially appreciate real-world solutions from Vulcan S owners, rather than generic paddock-stand recommendations.

Thanks, and ride safe!
