Did I just cheat my way into getting a diagnosis without needing an MLST or am I hard coping
I just got done with my polysomnogram last night. What happened was what I was worried would happen, my god awful insomnia came into play and I couldn't sleep long enough to do the MLST today. My tech said I needed to have at least 6 hours for reliable results, and I ended up getting less than 5.
However, she also said "we got plenty of good data from just last night" MULTIPLE times, and that the polysomogram might be enough for the doctor. She said that I'd get the results back within 7-10 days, as well as whether or not I'd need to take another test to actually get an MLST in.
Now, I could be hard coping, but I did fully wake up for like an hour last night. If my layman's knowledge is correct, don't you need two SOREMPs within a certain period of time for the MSLT diagnosis? What if I just happened to get two SOREMPs during the polysomogram? Can they legally diagnose you this way? Again, it might be cope, but she seemed pretty confident, and I was only asleep for less than 5 hours.
But, then again, neither of us are doctors. I guess to truly know, I'll just need to wait for my results.
