Help me understand Skylar Brandt’s costume

During Skylar’s recent performance of La Bayadere, there were a number of backstage photos posted where she’s in a midriff-baring costume. Except it’s not midriff-baring, she has a very obvious layer of wrinkly and loose beige fabric underneath the costume covering her torso. So I thought, ok, she doesn’t like showing her belly, so she wears an underlayer. It seemed odd to me that it didn’t fit better, but whatever.

But then, I saw a video posted from that performance where she does not appear to be wearing any sort of under layer, especially not such an ill-fitting one. And there are other photos with midriff-baring costumes, workout gear and bikinis.

So can anyone help my understand this costume? I’m not familiar with the ballet outside the general storyline. Is it a quick change hiding another costume underneath?

LilyPA’s Kickstarter only got halfway there

A couple months ago, lingerie pattern designer and supplies seller LilyPA created [a Kickstarter](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lilypadesigns/sewing-patterns-designed-for-curves/description) to start a line of clothing patterns with four bust sizes (combo sizes up to K cup - idk if these are sewing cup sizes or bra cup sizes. Probably bra as that’s what it seems like most large cup pattern makers like to do to make their range seem larger than it is [yes, I’m looking at you, Gertie and Cashmerette]).

The goal was $4,200, but it only got $2,228. Since it failed, they don’t get any of the money. When images of the first two patterns, which were also Kickstarter rewards, were released, the response [on here was lukewarm](https://www.reddit.com/r/craftsnark/comments/1t3h23k/weekly\_new\_patterns\_and\_products\_thread\_may\_04/). I wasn’t impressed with either of the designs as garments trying to sell me on a large bust line or the fit in general on most of the samples.

I wonder if the Kickstarter falling far short of the goal is more about the specific patterns available, the need (or rather lack thereof) for patterns with FBAs built in, the general economy, or the over-saturation of pattern companies?

They sent an email saying they’re still releasing the patterns; it’ll just be a longer process without the Kickstarter funds.
