Planning a trip to Melbourne and Sydney in end August 2026, would appreciate any advice!

1. Any must-visit spots or good flea markets/markets? Fish & chip places
2. Is it possible to rent a car without a credit card?
3. Has anyone brought food from home through immigration (e.g ready-to-eat meals)? Mom usually packs some homecooked food. Any issues at customs?
4. Saw on the news that locals shop for near-expiry groceries at supermarkets — is grocery shopping getting expensive there?
