What are your go-to NMIXX songs every month?

I was so bored during my 2 hr commute to work that I ended up making a list of what NMIXX songs I thought would fit each month depending on the seasonal events or vibe. Tried to keep it at an max of 4 songs per month but if there just seems to be multiple songs that fit, then it spills over haha.

Here's my list, but I'd love to know if you have other favorites for the seasons!

I didn’t include collaborations or solos this time but I’d probably put TIC TIC, MEXE, and Caution either in March or July haha. And Sullyoon’s goated duet with Parc Jae Jung at December, and Kyujin’s jazzy feature with Jason Lee at September. There’s just too many good songs with NMIXX haha

Edit: I realize I did not include Slingshot and Golden Recipe but let me defend those 2 in particular because I reserve them for certain moods in my life (aka when I am close to crashing out). So yeah. Not applicable to the season-based when it’s a moment specific haha.

I'm so emotional over Bae learning Sax for Kyujin

i've posted this on X too but it's driving me insane how precious Bae Jinsol is 😭 it is THAT serious to me that Bae took the time to learn the sax for Kyujin's birthday - fulfilling an inside joke that's been around NMIXX content since NMIXX Tonight Show (FORWARD era) and performing Happy Birthday in the soulful/jazz style that Kyujin loves....

Bae is just the personification of love and we are all so lucky to have a part of that love shared to us so freely huhu

i can't even imagine what it must have been like for her to learn how to maintain an embouchure for the first time and then post a video of herself performing later on. The talented band master Jason Lee likely guided her through it but still...those who've tried playing wind & brass instruments (like me) know it's a struggle to get it at an 'okay listenable' level within the first day. She's both a genius and such a dedicated hard worker, you just know she poured her heart into this 😭😭😭

Favorite Moments from IDESERVEIT

NMIXX has dropped another 10/10 EP I am streaming the hell out of it everyday lol. I’ve been meaning to post a proper compilation of my favorite vocal moments throughout the Heavy Serenade EP but I’ve become so intensely in love with IDESERVEIT that I need to yap about it, separately.

It’s such a fun song that gets me bopping my head every time I hear it. The lyrics are also some of the best in their discography, especially pre-chorus 2's beautiful imagery of the hard work and sweat in the process of reaching your goals...and best of all, we get to hear the members sing differently from the other tracks of this album!

Just a disclaimer: I do my best with interpretation but I’m not that knowledgeable on music production so the analysis won’t be like all that accurate music-wise. I'm also a newbie video editor so some parts might be rough (if you've seen these edits before on Twitter, you'd know haha) Anyway, to both IDESERVEIT lovers like me and those who may not love the song as much, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the song overall <33

I saw a JP Nswer online talk about the easter egg references in Crescendo's choreography and thought: why not spend my morning obsessing over it? lmao

I'm no dancer by any means so a lot of this is from recognizing the formation changes in Crescendo as being oddly familiar. The one I immediately caught onto upon first watch was the See That? dance break and Know About Me Chorus 2 formation, simply because those are soooo iconic and recognizable. The other references in verse 1 I genuinely had to slow down the stage practice so I could figure out it out. I'd just like to reiterate again that it is genuinely insane how fast they are switching formations in just the 1st verse of Crescendo. Genuinely nuts.

As for the second verse and pre-chorus of Crescendo though, I think it's less about evoking an recreation of other songs' formations and more about the overall rhythm of the movement, as I also explain in the photo re: Spinnin On It and Crescendo verse 2. The Blue Valentine pre-chorus 2 feels like the inspiration behind Crescendo pre-chorus 2 as well, in regards to the quickening rhythm that varies up the song.

Anyway, this is not a complete list by any means and I'd love to hear if other NSWERS caught onto other references! I'm sure there's some reference to DASH somewhere but I just wasn't able to catch it. Also the chorus of Crescendo, I found, is especially so unique since it's evoking an entirely different dance style (ballroom dance-esque) so I couldn't really catch much references there.

Update: it finally clicked on me that 1 reason why they're referencing so much past choreo is because Crescendo literally marks their arrival now in Mixxtopia. What better way to celebrate the touchdown of their journey (and the start of a new one in making Mixxtopia a real utopia) by referencing all of their past struggles and steps in the journey?
